Two Men and a Baby


Nemesis (Kimberley Joseph) runs through the forest panicked, clutching her six-month-old son Evander in a basket. She is being pursued by soldiers under the command of General Meniskos (Alistair Browning), one of Ares' (Kevin Smith) lieutenants. To escape her attackers, she wades into a fast-moving river where the basket gets away from her and starts floating downstream. Meniskos begins shouting for his men to get the baby, now headed for the falls. Meanwhile, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) and Iolaus (Michael Hurst) are fishing down river when Hercules discovers the basket carrying Evander. Just as he is showing the adorable little infant to Iolaus, Nemesis gallops into their campsite and is enormously relieved to find the baby is safe. She then announces to Hercules that he is Evander's father. Hercules is shocked, but the baby's grin has already captured his heart.
When Nemesis goes off to wash some of Evander's things, Hercules and Iolaus begin to play with the baby. Suddenly, Evander levitates a small stone which pops Iolaus in the back of the head. Grinning from ear to ear, the baby then levitates a second stone, causing it to smack Hercules is the back of his head. Evander leaves the two men confused, each thinking the other was responsible for the prank. When Nemesis takes the baby away to feed him and is gone for a long time, Hercules and Iolaus set out to investigate. They soon discover that Nemesis has taken a horse and left Evander behind. Convinced that she's in real trouble, the two agree they must find her. Meanwhile, Meniskos is cowering before Ares and Discord (Meighan Desmond) back at Ares' castle. When he confesses that he and his men have been unable to find Nemesis and the baby, Ares orders Discord to join in the search. Discord quickly catches up with Nemesis and orders Meniskos to take her to the village. In the meantime, as Hercules and Iolaus look for Nemesis, Evander continues to play with his "powers," levitating a surprised Iolaus several times, though never when Hercules is watching.
In the village, Discord angrily grills Nemesis to find out where she's hiding the baby and why Ares is so interested in the child. When her efforts prove futile, she orders that Nemesis be tied to a stake and burned if she doesn't relent. But before Meniskos can set her ablaze, Hercules and Iolaus arrive with the baby to rescue her. After a spectacular fight, they flee to the village gates and escape, locking Meniskos and his men inside. Hercules then pleads with Nemesis to tell him about the trouble she's in and she finally breaks down, admitting that she's deceived him -- that he's not Evander's father after all. Hercules is stunned and disappointed. She confesses that Ares is the baby's real father and that she became involved with him only because he promised her godhood again if she gave him a son. She goes on to explain that Ares wants the baby back because the child has inherited some of Ares' powers. Meanwhile, Ares tells Discord, who assumes the baby's father is Hercules, that he wants Evander back because the baby has powers he can eventually use to kill Hercules. Ares then tries to take the baby from Hercules, but fails. Suddenly, Hercules hears the urgent sound of Nemesis' voice and rushes off to find her. As he races through the forest with Evander in tow, he also hears Iolaus' cry. He finally finds them hanging precariously from a tree over a precipitous drop to the rocks -- the work of Ares and Discord. Ares tells Hercules he must make a choice -- he must hand over Evander or else his friends will die. Faced with no choice, Hercules gives up the baby to save Nemesis and Iolaus.
Back at the castle, when Discord finds out that the baby is actually Ares' child, she is consumed by her jealousy of Nemesis. She grabs the child and runs into the castle courtyard, only to find herself trapped between Meniskos and his men on one side and Hercules, who has just arrived with his friends, on the other. She sprints up the stairway to the castle tower and hurls the baby over the side. Hercules dives to catch Evander, but Ares rushes in at the last moment and grabs the baby. Soon, a battle ensues between Hercules, Iolaus and Meniskos and his men, and as Nemesis rages after Discord, Ares slips away. When Hercules catches up with Ares and the baby, he watches as Evander levitates a rock and sends it flying into the back of Discord's head, knocking her over the tower. Evander then rises out of Ares' grasp, higher and higher towards the battlement wall, into the arms of his mother. Hercules and Ares lash out at each other and after a furious fight in which Ares is drop-kicked by an unrelenting Hercules, the god of war gives up his struggle for the baby. Later, as Iolaus and him bid farewell to Nemesis and Evander, Hercules promises to always be there for them if they need him.

A bela Nemesis corria pela floresta, carregando seu bebê de seis meses de idade, Evander, dentro de um cesto. Ela estava sendo perseguida por um grupo de guerreiros sob o comando de um certo general Meniskos, um dos chefes-de-pelotão de Ares.
Para escapar de seus perseguidores, ela entrou em um rio de correnteza rápida, embora não violenta, e deixou que o cesto flutuasse para longe, rio abaixo. Meniskos gritou aos seus homens pára que apanhassem o bebê, que ia em direção a uma cachoeira.
Enquanto isso, Hercules e Iolaus estavam pescando mais abaixo, quando Hercules avistou o cesto e foi até ele. E justamente enquanto o filho de Zeus estava mostrando o adorável bebezinho a Iolaus, Nemesis passou pelo acampamento deles e viu a cena ... e ficou grandemente aliviada ao ver que a criança estava a salvo. Ela então anunciou a Hercules que ele era o pai de Evander. Hercules, naturalmente, ficou pasmo, mas o sorriso do bebê já havia conquistado seu coração.
Quando Nemesis se retirou para ir lavar algumas roupinhas de Evander, Hercules e Iolaus começaram a brincar com o bebê. Subitamente, Evander fez uma pequena pedra levitar, e logo em seguida cair bem na cabeça de Iolaus. Rindo bastante, o bebê repetiu a “façanha” com uma segunda pedra, dessa vez acertando Hercules bem na nuca. Evander deixou os dois homens confundidos, cada qual achando que o outro lhe tinha atirado a pedra.
Pouco tempo depois, quando Nemesis pegou o bebê e foi dar-lhe de mamar, ausentando-se por um tempo mais longo, Hercules e Iolaus decidiram investigar. Logo descobriram que Nemesis tinha tomado um cavalo e ido embora, deixando o pequeno para trás.
Convencidos de que ela estava com sérios problemas, os dois concordaram que deviam ir atrás dela.
Enquanto isso, Meniskos encontrava-se com Ares e Discórdia, no castelo do deus da guerra. Quando o general confessou que ele e seus homens tinham falhado em encontrar Nemesis e o bebê, Ares ordenou a Discórdia que participasse da busca. Discórdia rapidamente conseguiu apanhar Nemesis e ordenou a Meniskos que a levasse até um povoado próximo.
Nesse meio tempo, enquanto Hercules e Iolaus por sua vez procuravam Nemesis, Evander continuava a brincar com seus “poderes”, erguendo no ar um sobressaltado Iolaus algumas vezes, embora nunca quando Hercules estava presente.
E no povoado, Discórdia atormentava Nemesis para descobrir onde ela tinha escondido o bebê, e por quê Ares estava tão interessado na criança. Quando seus esforços se provaram fúteis, ela ordenou que Nemesis fosse amarrada a um poste e queimada viva, se não colaborasse. Mas, antes que Meniskos pudesse cumprir a tarefa, Hercules e Iolaus chegaram com o bebê para resgatá-la. Depois de uma luta espetacular, eles conseguem atravessar os portões da cidade e escapar, trancando Meniskos e seus guerreiros do lado de dentro. Hercules, então, pediu a Nemesis que lhe contasse sobre seus problemas, e ela finalmente cai em prantos, admitindo que mentira ... que ele não era o pai de Evander, afinal. Hercules ficou surpreso e desapontado. Ela também acabou confessando que Ares era o pai verdadeiro de Evander, e que havia se envolvido com ele apenas porque ele tinha prometido devolver-lhe a condição de deusa, se ela lhe desse um filho. Ela continuou, explicando que Ares queria o bebê, porque a criança herdara alguns dos poderes dele.
Enquanto isso, Ares contava a Discórdia, que presumia ser Hercules o pai de Evander, que queria a criança de volta por causa dos poderes que ele planejava usar para matar Hercules. Ares então tentou tomar o bebê de Hercules, mas falhou. Subitamente, Hercules ouviu o som urgente da voz de Nemesis, e correu para ajudá-la. Enquanto corria pela floresta com Evander no colo, ele ouviu também o grito de Iolaus.
Finalmente, encontrou ambos dependurados precariamente de uma árvore sobre um precipício – obra de Ares e Discórdia.
Ares disse a Hercules que ele devia fazer uma escolha ... devia entregar Evander, ou seus amigos morreriam. Confrontado com tal escolha, Hercules cedeu e entregou a criança, para salvar Nemesis e Iolaus.
De volta ao castelo, quando Discórdia descobriu que o bebê era na verdade filho de Ares, foi consumida pelo ciúmes de Nemesis. Ela agarrou a criança e correu para o pátio do castelo, apenas para se ver encurralada, com Meniskos e seus homens de um lado, e Hercules e seus amigos que acabavam de chegar, do outro. Ela correu na direção das escadas que levavam à torre do castelo, e segurou o bebê sobre a borda.
Hercules saltou para pegar Evander, mas Ares foi mais rápido, e no último momento agarrou o bebê. Logo, começou uma luta entre Hercules, Iolaus e Meniskos e seus homens, e enquanto Nemesis investia sobre Discórdia, Ares escapulia.
Quando Hercules avançou para apanhar Ares e o bebê, viu subitamente Evander levitar uma pedra e arremessá-la direto na cabeça de Discórdia, derrubando-a da torre. Evander então livrou-se dos braços de Ares, subindo cada vez mais alto sobre o campo de batalha lá embaixo, até os braços de sua mãe.
Hercules e Ares atracavam-se um com o outro, e depois de uma luta ferrenha, na qual Ares foi surrado por um Hercules furioso, o deus da guerra desistiu de lutar pelo bebê. Mais tarde, enquanto Iolaus e os outros despediam-se de Nemesis e Evander, Hercules prometeu estar sempre ao lado deles, se precisassem dele.

Um filme muito divertido! Kevin tem talento para escrever, não?
Adorei ver Hércules trocando a fralda do bebê... e a carinha do tio Iolaus quando Hércules não acreditava que o bebê fazia o "titio" voar...
Pura delícia! E o show de interpretação de Kevin quando fala com o bebê pensando que é seu filho e depois prometendo protegê-lo...
